6 Best Disney Cartoon Series'
published July 3, 2009
Ah, beloved Disney. They've given us so many great moments and many great sexual subliminal messages. From Steamboat Willy to the Jonas Brothers, Disney has been the the go-to company when it comes to family entertainment. Disney's transition to the cartoon series was welcomed by children everywhere. As a kid, I did extensive research on the best and the worst Disney cartoon series' . Here are my 6 favorites, as well as the 3 that just didn't quite make the cut.

Not Quite Good Enough: Goof Troop - Winnie the Pooh - Gummi Bears - Goof Troop was just an odd show, where Goofy miraculously had an 11 year old son and no wife. This either means that he produced his son through mitosis, or his wife left him (either via death or via sexier anthropomophized beagle).
I enjoyed WInnie the Pooh, mostly because of Eeyore. If you were like me, you hated the rabbit and piglet was annoying as hell. Tigger tried too hard to be funny. Pooh was simply so likeable that you didn't like him. Eeyore was the dopeness though.
Gummi Bears probably had one of the better theme songs of all time (even though it isn't the one below). As far as a cartoon series, it was horribly boring.
If you are in need of inspirational lyrics to send your spirit soaring, go no further than this song.

#6 - Talespin - This show basically got rid of all the crappy characters from the Jungle Book (Mowgli and the vultures that talk like the Beatles) and made a series about it. It also features a familiar voice. The annoying Rebecca Cunningham was voiced by none other than Sally Struthers. Her voice still makes me feel guilty for eating shrimp scampi, when the money spent on it could feed an African village for 3 months. Talespin also featured some good villains. Shere Kahn now appeared as a wealthy CEO (how despicable) and Don Carnage was an jackal air pirate. Definitely an awesome show.

#5 - Darkwing Duck - This show was a spin-off/continuation of DuckTales, in which Launchpad was intended to be the main hero. It turned into an satire on superheroes that was really entertaining with an awesome cast of villains. NegaDuck (Darkwings evil twin from an alternate dimension), MegaVolt (lightning manipulator), Bushroot (the plant man), Quackerjack (the master of evil toys) and the Liquidator (watery villain) rounded out the Fearsome Five, probably one of the best team of villains in any genre. Not to mention countless of other villains that showed up throughout the series.

#4 - Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers - One of the stranger concepts, Chip and Dale were a crime fighting duo that solved the crimes that 'go slippin through the cracks.' They had an awesome cast of protagonists. Monterey Jack was the Aussie big man who went nuts for cheese. Zipper was the fly who got the team out of all sorts of sticky situations. And Gadget was one of the first mice we ever had the hots for, showing us that intelligence and a big eyed mousy face was sexy.
No no, not these Chippendales... and ladies - Chris Hanson is on to you too.

#3 - DuckTales - DuckTales (Woo ooh) had one of the best theme songs of all time. It also had one of the oddest concepts. Scrooge McDuck was the richest ducks in the world and had to protect his money bin from the likes of the beagle Boys, Magica De Spell, and the perfidious fellow Scottishman - Flintheart Glomgold. Despite the odd concept, this show was the one show we'd rush home to school to watch and had a wide variety of interesting characters besides the villains (Launchpag, Gizmoduck, Gyro, El Capitan).

#2 - Aladdin - The movie was good, but the TV series was an absolute marvel. It was a fantasy adventure series at it's very best. All the movie characters had returned in full glory, including the extremely overpowered Genie. Come to think of it, it's too bad "Genie's" name was also his species. It's like calling your best friend "Human." To counter the overpowered genie, there was certainly an endless stream of overpowered bad guys as well, which made it the best Disney TV series. That is, until Gargoyles came along.
If only Ahmadinejad could be as loveable.

#1 - Gargoyles - This was strange for Disney. It was the next generation of Disney cartoon. It was intense, dark, adventurous, and for little kids, scary as hell. For most of us it was simply awesome. It had awesome characters, named after various places in New York. (Hudson, Brooklyn, Broadway Lexington and Bronx), and one of the dopest good guy leaders in Goliath. The main antagonist, Xanatos, was even voiced by the eternal bad-ass - Riker.
