Hey Democrats, Grow Some Balls
published August 19, 2009

Health care reform is biggest debate in the nation right now. That fact that it even is a debate is reason for worry. 72% of us want health care reform. The fact that people resist a change to a universal health care is mind boggling. Here are some more statistics. 62% of bankruptcies in 2007 were due to illness. 78% of those cases already had health insurance. Universal health care needs to happen, and it needs to happen now. The people against it need to be ignored and steamrolled. The problem is, the democratic majority that the people finally elected, don't have the balls to do it.

Health Care Coverage by Country

We have insurance for everything these days. Car insurance, homeowener's insurance, flood insurance, life insurance, death and funeral insurance, insurance for every ATV, boat, car, motorcycle, and even insurance for body parts like your legs, breasts, or ass (Rihanna and David Beckham). The strange thing is we are required by law to have insurance for cars, and not for something priceless like your life. The stat being thrown around all over the media is that 50 million Americans do not have health insurance. There is no stat for how many people have crappy insurance, but I'd guess at least another 50 million. Hell, the people who receive the absolute best health care in this country are the troops - because it's government run and it's universal for them.

Kim Kardashian Booty
It is my duty, to insure that booty.

This past election, the American people sent a message. They elected a Democrat majority, and even a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. Why is it so difficult to pass this health care reform bill? There's a couple reasons. First of all, the reach of the health insurance companies is far and wide. They spend an uncountable millions on advertising, fake grassroots movements, and putting money into the pockets of our congressmen. They are responsible for the idiots at the town halls meetings, and for the hesitation of congress to pull the trigger on this. Check out this NBC poll result released today. I am shocked to see how many people actually fall for these bald faced lies. (And this is a liberal leaning left poll!!)

Percentage of People who Believe Health Care Reform Would Lead to:
  • Coverage for Illegal Immigrants: 55%
  • Taxpayer Funded Abortion: 55%
  • Government Takeover: 54%
  • Death Panels for the Elderly: 45%

NONE OF THESE ARE TRUE YOU DAMN IDIOTS.

Let's compare a few costs in healthcare.

  1. Average Hospital Cost of Prenatal Care and Childbirth in America per Child (without C-Section or complications) -$6,500 - $11,500
  2. Hospital Cost of Prenatal Care and Childbirth of me and my 2 brothers in Iceland (including a C-Section) - $0
  1. Average Cost of a Broken Arm in America - $12,000
  2. Average Cost of Broken Arm in Denmark - $0
  1. Average Cost of an Appendectomy in America - $15,850
  2. Average Cost of an Appendectomy in France - $0
  1. Average Cost of Kidney Transpant in America - $67,000
  2. Average Cost of Kidney Transplant in Sweden - $0

Do you think that the best interest of health insurance companies is to pay $60,000 for some guy who has only paid about $9,000 to the company in his lifetime? They are a business. They're goal is to make as much money as possible. They don't give a damn about your grandma. The worst part is that they are running rampant and out of control. Your health should not be a business. A public option will (hopefully) keep them in check.

Some people are believing statements that are completely false. These fringe groups who have been crashing the town halls believe in saying it loud, and not to present legitimate facts. These are the same lunatics who went to these 'tea parties'. Newt Gingrich and friends continue to lie to the cameras with a straight face and call it a 'grassroots' movement. These are sponsored by insurance companies, Fox News, and a well oiled machine with big money backing who have been doing this for a long time.

Best protestor ever.

Government run health care works for soldiers, veterans and the elderly. Jon Stewart got conservative pundit Bill Kristol to say that the "Government runs the best health care." However the World Health Organization has ranked the U.S. 37th in the world in health care. 37th!! All the boogeyman 'socialist ' countries strangely rank in front of the U.S. One fact I can tell you is the scared, gun toting, town hall disruptin', flag bleedin', white guys have no idea how great socialized medicine is. Have they lived in any of these "Socialist" countries? Do they even know where these countries are on a map? The answer is a resounding no. I have spent some time in a socialist country and have family living there. Everyone receives 1st rate healthcare, regardless of social status, wealth, race, gender, sexual orientation, and age, and it doesn't cost them a dime. People have a content state of mind knowing that if they got cancer that it won't bankrupt their whole family. All they have to do is continue to pay taxes like everyone else. This 'socialist' country is ranked #15 as compared to #37 of the U.S.

Within the Democrats, there seems to be a need or want for bipartisanship. The Democrats feel like they have to appease the Republicans by passing a bill that will not be effective. The Republicans have made their stand. They are going to be douchebag cockblockers. They are not going to bend, because they are the richest and most priviliged and in the pockets of the health insurance companies. Republicans claim to have some up with healthcare reform bills, and Tom Coburn's is most prominent. His goal is to "strengthen the relationship between the patient and the doctor." Seriously, if you take a moment to read some of the contents, it's horrible. I read the bill, and here are some of my favorite parts.

Coburn Healthcare Bill 1
Wonderful, prioritize 5 diseases. And the top 5 diseases? What about the thousands of other diseases?
Coburn Healthcare Bill 1
In other words, let's pick out Health Care companies that give us the most money and send business their way.
Coburn Bill 3
Let's get Dennis Miller and Chuck Norris to promote this ridiculous idea.
Coburn Healthcare Bill 1
Really? A 'bonus' to 5-10 states that reduce disease rates? REALLY?!

This bill is the best the Republicans have to offer on the Health Care Reform that 72% of Americans want.

So Democrats, grow some balls and pass this bill over the Republicans. We have a filibuster proof Senate. We didn't vote you in so you can pass half-assed health care reform. We voted for this majority so you wouldn't have to work with the cockblocking Republicans. The public option is a good start, but you have to take it further. Give us universal health care. To get it done, the Dems will have to get some balls. Don't appease the Republicans, just steamroll them and get it done.
