Beautiful Actresses Gone Ugly for an Oscar
published July 1, 2009
If you are a beautiful actress, and you haven't been nominated for an Acedemy Award yet for Best Actress (or Best Supporting Actress), you obviously have not played an ugly woman yet. It's so difficult for a beautiful actress to play a woman who fell off the ugly tree and hit all the branches on the way down. This is why the Acedemy Awards go to these beautiful actresses. It is such a difficult part for a beautiful woman to play, because they rarely understand the pain and frustration that an ugly woman goes through. Take a look at these amazing transformations!

Nicole Kidman! A beautiful actress in her own right. However with a plastic nose, the 2002 award for Best Actress is all hers. If they gave 2 away Salma would've definitely got one.

Charlize single handedly shriveled up a million collective boners in her part in 2003's "Monster." She of course won best actress. Meanwhile, are still recovering.

Many people forget that Hilary Swank is a babe, she just refuses to play one in movies. She won two academy awards, one for playing an ugly boy-lesbian (1999 Boys Don't Cry), and one for playing an ugly female boxer (2004 - Million Dollar Baby).

Here we start to get borderline. Some say Rene Zellweger never was a babe. To those I refer you to "Me, Myself and Irene." There are also some who say she wasn't ugly at all in "Bridget Jones's Diary." Well the point is she gained 50 pounds and played an 'ugly' woman and got nominated for an Oscar.

Another borderline is when Angelina Jolie won Best Supporting Actress for "Girl, Interrupted" in 1999. I actually think she was hotter in this movie than any other. Again, she played a crazy, frizzy haired woman with make-up intended to make her look less appealing, and won the Oscar for it.

Finally we have Jodie Foster, nominated in 1994 for "Nell," where she played an ugly dumb woman. Slightly borderline as she really wasn't that ugly in it.
