2009 Quick Movie Grades

These movies are reviewed by movie aficionado Jeremy Woodward. He currently makes film trailers for big budget movies in Hollywood CA and is a former movie theater manager of a (now-defunct) massive multiplex movie theater. His reviews are to be generally trusted, though he is far too nice to give many movies a grade below a C.
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - Watch your toys come to life! This is the
definition of a popcorn flick. B- |

The International - Clive Owen shoots his way through a smart
thriller. Great cinematography of architecture. A- |
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Like the first but more so in every way. C |

| Terminator Salvation - Not as bad as it could be. Not as good as it should be. C+ |

| District 9 - You don't need a big budget for great sfx. Good story too, even if you can nitpick it. A- |

Bruno - It was funny but... C+ |

The Hurt Locker - TENSE movie about a soldier that diffuses bombs.
Succeeds because it's not about politics, it's about the job. War is a
drug. A |

Moon - Sam Rockwell meets himself in this quirky scifi movie. B+ |

The Hangover - The little movie that could, it's funny enough. B+ |

The Soloist - Jamie Foxx tries for the retard oscar win. Almost succeeds. RDJ is always good. B- |
Watchmen - Watch Zack Snyder do about as good as he is capable of
doing. Someone else should have directed though. B- |

Race to Witch Mountain - They're racing to find Dwayne Johnson's career. C |

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Hugh Jackman is at least trying. Why isn't
anything else in this movie? C |

Angels & Demons - False advertising. I would rather have seen a movie
about angels fighting demons. Tom Hanks runs around the Vatican for
two hours too slow to save people from dying. Better than DaVinci Code
though. B- |

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - A movie to be
admired but not loved. B |

Perfect Getaway - Kiele Sanchez is hotter than Milla. There I said it,
now go deal with it. Solid thriller that keeps you guessing. B |
